In addition to publications, I have been involved in patent work and applied research in telecommunications and analytics. This includes work where methods originally developed in research later became patented — demonstrating that energy savings and performance improvements can be achieved simultaneously when both network quality and customer experience are modelled properly.
Much of my applied work has been carried out in operator and vendor environments, where the focus has been on turning models and analytics into operational tools rather than purely academic results.
My publications and patents are not an end in themselves, but a reflection of how I approach problems: combining rigorous analysis with practical constraints. Whether the context is mobile networks, healthcare, energy or human mobility, the same principles apply — understand the system, model what matters and connect the results to decisions.
